FA38a - Revolver Cartridge Box

357.50
This extremely fine leather box was standard issue to troops carrying revolvers. According to Meadows, 174,264 of these were issued during the Civil War. Measuring @ 6" x 4" it was designed to fit over the back of the belt. There are no markings on this one. The leather is particularly good with a little bit of cracking on the front of the box under the flap. There are six wheel-like embossed emblems, two on the outside back, two on the inside and two on the sides. This is a truly fine box and excellent for display with a period revolver.
