Dated 17 February 1864, this is the $5 note printed in black ink on white paper with an engraving of the Richmond state capitol at the center and C.G. Memminger (Secretary of the Treasury 1861 - 1864 and a key advocate for public education) at right (T60). The back is blue with the word "FIVE" across the center and the numeral "5" in four ornate medallions at the corners. Serial # is 7,xxx with plate letter F, it is imprinted "Engraved by Keatinge & Ball, Columbia, SC" In circulated, but mostly crisp condition with no frays or pin holes.
