NC9 - 1863 Indian Head Penny

$18.50
This small one-cent piece was first issued in 1859 and is actually a representation of Liberty wearing an Indian headdress, not an actual Indian. There is an oak wreath and a U. S. Shield on the reverse. Made of copper-nickel, this coin was designed by James Longacre and struck at the Philadelphia mint. This one is in worn, but good condition.
