PRESS  If used in the military, this was most probably used y an officer. A real rarity, this is a very interestingly turned wood handle attached to a metal seal end. The flat metal tip was heated and dipped into wax, and the letter, document or envelope was sealed to secure it. This one has the letter "S" in Old English script. It measures 2 3/4" in length and appears to be made of grenadalia, the same period material used in the manufacture of fifes. It is complete and in excellent condition
