B1058 - Collection of General Orders

127.50
This is a very interesting grouping of eight printed General Orders all concerning the requirements for transferring officers and enlistedmen from regular service to the Invalid Corps. Two of these bear the signature of Edward Davis Townsend, then Colonel and Adjutant General. He was later breveted to Brigadier and Major-General. There are 25 pages in all, some with notations indicating how the orders relate to each other, adding and revoking certain particulars. They span a time frame from 20 March 1863 to 19 August of that same year. They are in excellent condition with only the small holes to the left which indicate they had been removed from a binder into which they had been stitched.
