A heavy, old black iron kettle with sturdy handle, of the type used commonly in both slave and army camps as well as at field hospitals. It is 10" in diameter and 8" deep. In excellent condition, still retaining most of its original heavy black paint, it is nearly identical to the one on p. 109 in Lord's IV.
