This is a circular, brass medallion measuring 1 1/2" in diameter with a spread eagle on its face, its talons clutching the arrows (much like the design on the eagle shoulder plate). These were worn, primarily by militia units, on their tall, plumed hats (shakos). This one has an even, moderately bright brass finish and both wire fasteners are intact.
