D851a - Period Drumsticks

$187.50
Made of rosewood and measuring 17" in length, these are standard drumsticks of the period considered by Garofalo and Elrod to be "long, thick and heavy." These are in extremely fine condition still retaining a good bit of their original varnish. According to Garofalo and Elrod, one stick was generally slightly larger than the other. The larger one was held in the right hand and used for main beats in a measure, and the lighter (called a 'tenor stick') was held in the left hand for filling in between main beats.
